Abstract

In this paper, the author presents toponymic material collected during field research in the village of Jastreb, located in the municipality of Danilovgrad in the central part of Montenegro. The dialect of the researched area belongs to the southeastern Montenegrin languages. It is characterized by a four-accent system with several specific features that distinguish this dialect from the general features of other four-accent Montenegrin dialects. In relation to the toponyms, basic information is provided about the structural multi-layered nature of the material. The register consists of 71 toponyms recorded in the field. All toponyms are accented according to the authentic speech of the interlocutors in the field. The speech of the village of Jastreb and the entire Bjelopavlići was systematically described by Drago Ćupić (1977), and according to the most important features in the context of Montenegrin dialectology, this speech is classified as one of the southeastern Montenegrin speeches (see Čirgić, 2017). No interpretation of the toponomastic material of Bjelopavlić has been made so far, as pointed out by the phytotoponomastician Vukić Pulević (2012, pp. 195–205).We recorded toponyms in the period January - April 2026. Because the areas from which we bring material in terms of dialectology belong to the same speech and administratively form one cadastral municipality - here we give the toponyms together.
